One of the reasons when a derailment happens is most of the management of light rail lines were not rails but are bus people so they do not know how to re-rail cars and fix track quickly and many times light rail uses contractors for track and signal work not sure how the crossing systems work with the light rail but you would think if they are motion detectors they would time out
