I see by last nite's news that these care are being replaced and will
be used for parts, training and scrap.
IIRC there are a coupla first gen San Diego cars in museum[s?]

Any interest by OERM to preserve one/some?

I did some figuring about Long Beach Line PE cars
Some of the 500 class lasted 25 years and a squeak
The 1000s lasted beyond that, but probly because of WW2
The original 1200s, all steel lasted 35 years
A few Blimps, not to PE until 1943 however, lasted 50 years.
And how well have the Metro cars weathered their time?
