BNSF considering electrification?

According to Railway Age, BNSF is reviewing possible electrification of some lines. Read the article here:

The general idea is to generate large amounts of wind power along the eastern slope of the Rockies, then use BNSF right of way for the transmission lines heading to populated areas where power is needed, perhaps California. And, conveniently, that could allow BNSF to use some of that power for freight rail.

Before you say this is a crazy plan, consider that Warren Buffet (thru Berkshire Hathaway has a large position in BNSF, and another of Berkshire's holdings is MidAmerican Energy. Also one of MidAmerican's subsidiaries is PacificPower in the Portland OR area.
