Despite the usual predictable squeals of editorial outrage and the dubious editorial sentiments expressed in this post, I actually think that an Amtrak CEO looking at what seats are filled in what markets, at what prices, and why, is better thinking, and a better question to ask, than what I heard in person from Joe Boardman, when he was babbling nonsense to me, about why diners for long distance trains were his highest priority back in 2009...?
