I don't know that Espee separated out their Daylight locomotives from any others due for retirement. Many of their steamers ended up at Bayshore Yard in Brisbane, CA.; this yard had unused trackage and was close to Bay Area scrapyards. Roseville Yard and Sacramento Shops were other popular retirement homes.
