Family Law / Probate Law is possibly the ugliest part of our legal system, ( excepting maybe child abuse ), since it often pits sibling against sibling in a " He said he wanted his stuff to go to... " situation, where only the lawyers come out ahead in the end. After my mother died without a valid will, my sisters & I spent the next 18 months in Probate Court, in front of 4 different Judges & Pro Tems. In a U.S. Legal system that is focused on Murder, Rape, Drugs & Robbery, Probate law is often given few resources or talent.
Condolences & Good Luck to Doug's family in the months & years to come...
