The line is completely clear, but there is no logical reason for it to return to service as a freight line. All traffic is at Oregon City and can be handled via the SP Valley Main (UP).

It is conceivable that TriMet could use the right-of-way for MAX service to Oregon City, however, it is far more likely they would utilize SE McLoughlan since there is more commercial uses there.
