The Resetar (AKA Hotel Resuscitation)in Watsonville wasn't too bad but it had its moments. The bar near the front desk saw some constant "action". The mods in K Falls were nice and quiet if you enjoyed mainline action within rock lobbing distance. The nicest touch in Yuma was when they put in a basketball backboard so the guys could shoot hoops in the summer instead of hitting the bar. Bakersfield had a string of A-1 hotels for the SJ crews out of LA, the Royal Palms on south Union Ave (old 99) had bullet holes in the second story card room walls (card gambling is/was legal in the county areas of Kern County) that could be seen from the street. At least the Black Angus was across the street. The Mile Post eatery and mods in W Colton were within easy listening distance of the retarders. I don't remember what Roseburg had. Rumor had it that Tucumcari had some hole also.
