homestead doesn"t exist after andrew
both rail connections are gone, the
base is a 1/4 of it's pre andrew size, fec spur has been completely
removed
as well as the csx (sal/scl), fec
eol is at 4th in miami, and the csx,
although intact all the way to
homestead, is rail banked, past the
quarries beyond the zoo and GCRM,
csx is betting on a tri-rail expansion to south florida, everything is operable, down to the
crossing gate signals, as the electrical power is still hooked up,
stumblng blocks, purchase cost and
track rebuilding, more of a "hope"
in the sky, at rhis point
