That is a great story and full of detail about a railroad mainline that is long gone. It was written by a very observant 15 year old girl. For those that don't know, this is the far Eastern Washington original mainline of the UP long ago bypassed for the new UP mainline that is in use today. It would be interesting to drive that route today and try to find all the stations listed on her journey. Some have track today but most don't. The UP in this region had several distinct routes, 3 of which I'm aware of, that formed the mainline in different eras between Oregon and Spokane.
