I miss hanging out with The Train Punks at Espee Pomona depot on Friday nights, waiting for the E/B Amtrak Sunset and its' GE Poochs chugging out of town. Of course sometimes it didn't arrive until Saturday AM. I also miss having to keep a straight face when passengers who had been waiting at " the other " Amtrak depot in Pomona would drive up just as Train # 2 was leaving. Having to tell them the next stop for " their " train was in Palm Springs !!!
I miss railfanning on Cajon Pass back in the day, when you could camp out almost anywhere without being hassled or run off; before Summit became Stalag 13. Several times I spent the night on Descanso Terrace!!!
I miss watching Santa Fe's Night Coast roll past Anaheim Stadium during California Angels baseball games.
I miss watching an Espee Gyralight cutting through the night time fog along Highway 99.
I miss having 3 or 4 hobby shops within a 30 minute drive.
I miss Floquil paints, and sniffing glue.
