I don't remember any RR shacks anywhere around Black River, only signal sheds. I do remember the small yard Milwaukee used for setouts & pickups still being there into maybe the early 2000's ??? It was removed as part of the BNSF mainline relocation away from the South Seattle Intermodal Yard. I recall this project was part of the early Sounder improvements.
The demise of Longacres was long felt throughout the area, not just by the horse racing community but also by local businesses. When I first moved to town The Riverside Country lounge & bar on Interurban Ave. in Tukwila had live music 7 nights a week, and a 24 hour restaurant that I frequented after driving truck all night. It's a " Casino " now... :(
