I've seen a youtube video a couple of years ago with some folks who hade trekked out to the "abandoned train line" through the backwoods and madrone, by 4 wheel vehicle, and it didn't look like an easy drive.

I am more interested in the other post about the possibility of the reuse of the northern segment from Eureka south, which might imply some kind of tourist operation, in the discussion of the rail bank plans.

There were some weird contradictions and dubious economics described in that incomplete story, including how they would potentially use the northern segment, and why it would be restored to operation.
