N.O. wanted to rebuild the Desire line but it was decided subsidence and the old buildings might pose a problem. So they laid track in the French Quarter vicinity on Rampart and St. Claude. 5' - 2 1/2" gauge.

Before Katrina they were talking about rebuilding the Tulane line but apparently forgotten now.
