On a recent visit to Ukiah, I read an article in the local paper about the city extending a trail system beyond Gobi St. about 1000 yards. They are not taking over the ROW, but set off the tracks a few feet and parallel to them, matching the portion already completed. The trail work will include a short span over a creek, and the contractor is to shore up the old NWP abutments for safety to enable construction of the trail. Further details were lacking in the paper.
