The roads were pretty short, even the Sandy River, by comparison to the Narrow Gauge Circle. I think they were mostly to haul lumber to saw mills and were construed to be more temporary than the standard gauge railroads in the state.

The Depression did them in mostly; too bad those quite new Sandy River 2-6-2's got scrapped. They would be perfect for a big amusement park.
