Which ride better in general. The four axle, or six axle diesels?

If the U50's B+B-B+B configuration didn't do too well, how about EMD's DD series? Both had unique trucks (in the case of the U50, two axles per truck - similar to anything GE at the time, but different in where the weight of the loco was displaced.)

does wheelbase length make a difference in the ride? I would imagine that a longer wheelbase would be better in faster speeds.
