Can we assume that Sherman begins at Laramie(7,165ft) in the west and Cheyenne(6,062ft) in the east? That at the present rail location of 'Summit', Wyoming, is actually 8,015ft, where as Donner 'rail' pass tops out 1,065ish ft lower at 6,950ish ft? Does Donner 'rail' pass, peak just outside of tunnel 41, just entering the shed or elsewhere? Someone told me the Donner 'rail' grade peaks somewhere exiting Norden's shed complex to it's east end. I beg to differ. Comments?
