when in college in the 60s along the Milw Rd Chi-Omaha main, both asparagus and strawberries were seasonal items. Express reefers were added to a second tier passenger train with a heavyweight rider coach at the rear. As they had to be iced, the pass train was a couple hours late when these shipments were involved.
