"Tracking and wheel wear problems" - sounds like a drawback inherent to the truck design? How about a radically different engineering of the steering and suspension assembly along automotive lines? I realize this amounts to heresy. And worse it probably can't be done. But the rail world seems to be awfully set in its ways and I think could stand to benefit from some exotic r&d.
