A year after 911 my then boss and I were going to Las Vegas for a show
I drove a van full of equipment, he was flying out of LAX
We both left about the same time on a Saturday
I got to the convention center in Vegas in under 4 hours
My boss showed up an hour and a half later, he said the big delays were the long and screwed up security lines and just trying to get into the airport.
A week later he canceled his flight, and rode back with me, got back again in 4 hours even with traffic, he was intrigued by my scanner where I could listen to the highway patrol(not to break the law but to listen to traffic conditions) and even more the railroads, he bought one shortly after for his car and home, listened to CHP, RR's, News media, and aircraft.
