I have always been told it is your responsibility to look out for them, they don't have time to stop for every car /truck in the road. that is why they put up signs. A log truck stopped once when I was pulled over and said there would be a truck about every 5 minutes, so be ready to pull off and give them room. I was keeping my eyes opens for wide spots and getting over and had no problems.
