Yes and no.

SP2216-2218 were the ex-C&O cars, but they were part of C&O's general pool, not built for the "Chessie." They were purchased by C&NW from C&O in 1957, and were part of the nine C&NW cars SP purchased in 1961 that became SP2211-2219. They stayed in C&NW yellow and green but with SP lettering and numbers, for some time.

Here's the 2216 after being repainted SP.
