I concur eastbound. Dark green tree's on left, below is the Truckee River. I-80 is far right in picture just above dark green trees. Coming out of the Trk.Riv. Canyon. Nice morning shot, what? 9-10am?
I didn't know at the time(1986-87)that SP shipped coal, but one Sunday afternoon in that time period, I was in Roseville(Ca.) down near the wye and this huge coal train came in.(Sorry. Print film in the camera.) That was a real eye opener! Later reflection, as being owned by then by D&RG, who moved a lot of coal. Why not to Oakland for oversea consumption?
