"single-handedly"??? Wow, you give this Harry Bridges dude a LOT of credit. No politicians or businesses were involved in this decision. So technological changes, geographic advantages of other ports, rising land values in San Francisco, new development patterns all were of no consequence in port activity vanishing from the City of San Francisco.
