Both versions of the Lucin Cutoff ( trestle & fill ) were built by Southern Pacific RR. As such the fill has become the property of Union Pacific RR. While I'm surprised to read that U.P. hasn't posted Five thousand No Trespassing signs like they did across Tehachapi, ( perhaps they flew away in the wind ??? ), it would not be wise to trespass there, as there is nowhere to hide if the Gumshoes are coming. It would also be a bad place to break down or suffer multiple flat tires.
