The 2nd will now end at mp39. Lawers canyon bridge will stay in place. Almost all of the traffic would come out of craigmont. So there wasnt much reason to keep the south end. It really hurt to see the line come out. I worked so long on getting the line up and running. We had the line in service all the way to cottonwood this spring. The plan we had worked out with UP was to get 17 miles of storage cars for craigmont to cottonwood. This paid for the bridge work we had done to get the line into shape. We where all so excited to run on the praire but it all came to a grinding halt when the storage cars showed up almost a month early and in a much larger groups then we had agreed on. The bridge contractor had about a weeks worth of work left on half moon. The UP cars where showing up so fast we had only one choice and that was to put them between mp1 and mp17. With UP telling us that the cars will be here for at least two years the south end was of little use. As for Bolville we had looked at moving the material to the east end of the WIM. But with nothing happening in the short term out their it didnt make sense. Stan Patterson
