The Chron (sfgate.com) had this, but the actual site with the maps is: [sfstreetcars.co]

Many of us have books and even (partial) first-hand knowledge about these things, but for the Google Maps generation, perhaps this kind of thing is needed. It's fun to peruse, anyway.
