If you follow the line east, you will see more bridges, water tank, a couple boxcars etc. The line ran I believe to 1969 and was steam to the end. There was a group Friends of the San Juan Extension that wished to rebuild the line but that was back in 2000. I don't know the reason Gato was not cleaned up.

If you go east, try to find Hendrick's Rock and report back.
