In theory PTC would of prevented this type of collision, but its possible it was a runaway situation. If that were the case PTC would not of been able to stop a train that had lost its brakes. Again, just speculation, as many on this board point out after accidents, we need to wait for an actual accident report from the NTSB to know for sure what happened.
