As the Internet news sources take over an ever increasing amount of the RR World, the print magazines are thinner & thinner. I'm guessing they would love to have any railroad stories, no matter what subject or writing style is presented.
I took a chance in 2002 and sent Railfan magazine a single 35mm slide of Southern Pacific 4449 along the Columbia River Gorge Eastbound, blasting out of Cape Horn Tunnel. My sole entry in their Cover One contest became the winning image, in spite of 4449 being dressed in Basic Black at the time. GO FOR IT !!!
