Sorry, Ms. Voss. While George H.W. Bush was clearly superior to his son and the current occupant of the White House, I still have bad memories of the racist Willie Horton ad used against Michael Dukakis. George H.W. Bush coming into Boston Harbor to claim that Dukakis was responsible for the no progress being made in cleaning up the harbor was also dishonest.

Michael Dukakis was just as much a "real American as George H.W. Bush." Circling back to the topic of rail transportation, Governor Dukakis regularly commuted to work on a light rail transit line and was actively involved in promoting improvements to the Northeast Corridor.
