As I recall, power from the 50s and 60s (in my case, F7s, GP7/9/20s, GP35/40s) all had hot-water heaters with electric fans on the front cab wall. Starting with units delivered in the 70s, there were also electric sidewall heaters with no fans. Winter nights never seemed very warm in the cab, and that was in sea-level California. Probably due to cold air leaking in around the doors and windows.
