I'm very much interested in your recent observations.
For the last few months I've been trying to pinpoint what's left of the UP PBX system. When and where did you hear 161.520 used for fire operations?
I too have heard 161.160 in use at West Colton. I'm curious where you've heard 160.605 and 160.890 still in service. While I haven't heard voice communications on 160.605 for months (maybe years) there are paging chirps on 160.605 numerous times each hour.
I have a feeling UP moved or modified the 6252 PBX on 160.890. Back in the SP days, I could easily hear this PBX with a handheld radio sitting on the kitchen table (no external antenna). Nowadays, connected to a discone antenna on the roof, I can't hear a thing.
