Re: UP Rotaries preparing for work at Colfax

The last several times (2011, 2017, and 2019) UP has fired the rotaries, they've done something that I don't understand. I'm hoping either Mr. Dorn, or Mr. Lynch might be able to shed light on it. The locomotives that get put in for power are facing away from the rotary, and are nose to nose with each other. Is there a particular reason for this type of arrangement?
