My guess is that it is going to pass. Maybe they will hire some of the unemployed guys hanging out at the 7-Eleven to work on the track gangs. There is getting to be a big crowd of them there.

The only thing dumber than SMART are the local machine politicos who support this turkey but oppose the Rohnert Park Casino, which would actually create 2000 permanent jobs. In 10 years time(sales tax revenues having dropped)when it is finally clear that SMART is not anywhere close to living up to its promises, the machine hacks will blame the "consultants" who of course will have long since pocketed the money and left town. Kinda like the perps responsible for BART's Russian broad gauge.
