I saw a picture of the King Street Station in Seattle taken on December 21, 2005 taken on the shortest day of the year at 7:02 a.m. (PST) and it was still dark there even then and thats about at 48 degrees north latitude. Even in Davis in Northern California it is already twilight by that time on that date.
Would riding a railroad excursion have a benifit of longer hours of Daylight in a Northern Tier State as well? What about viewing Auroras on a summer night on the train as well?
