I suspect he must have been emailing Commission staff or the Commissioners bugging them, and they relented and let him provide a PowerPoint.

RTC completed their unified corridor study and now they are getting ready to do an alternatives analysis for the passenger rail component. But they don't have enough sales tax revenue accumulated to start their environmental document, so they are looking for grant funding. The Commissioners wanted to see an interim business plan for passenger rail and a rough schedule of when service would begin sooner rather than later.

There was a nice presentation yesterday from the Virgin/XpressWest folks about the success of the Brightline service nd about their planned Victorville to Las Vegas service. Apparently FRA is working with Caltrans and Nevada DOT to revalidate their NEPA document within six months. When asked by the Commissioners they said they could get shovels in the dirt right after that, but I'm doubtful.
