I was glad to see a few more folks from California this year; I guess they didn't fall off the edge of the Planet at the Oregon State Line after all !!!
Summerail producer David Oroszi sat in front of us up in Hecklers' Corner; a really nice guy to talk with and he said Summerail's recent move from Cincinnati to Marion is likely permanent. Now if I can just talk him into scheduling the show the same week the NASCAR Trucks race at Eldora Speedway in Rossburg !?!
The set-up at Corvallis High School is smaller than Scottish Rite Temple, but it works well for the smaller crowds of recent years. Lotsa restrooms within, all with paper towels too. The ventilation in the theatre is much better than Stockton, and no missing seat cushions !!! The swap meet was great, though a bit painful to my wallet. Lotsa new books out right now; The Espee Western Division book by Vic Neves & Brian Jennison is AWESOME, though White River had already sold their few copies so I couldn't get an author's autograph. They did honor the pre - publication price of $70.00 post paid though.
Another advantage of Corvallis : No need for security guards in the parking lots !!! The only grumbling I heard of concerned the requirement to exit the school property for smoke breaks. Whatever happened to Smoking in the Boys Room ???
