Heat killing of Bedbugs
This method of bed bug control involves raising room temperatures to or above the killing temperature for bed bugs, which is around 45 °C (113 °F). Heat treatments are generally carried out by professionals, and may be performed in a single area or an entire building. Heat treatment is generally considered to be the best method of eradication because it is capable of destroying an entire infestation with a single treatment.
HEPA air filtration is normally used during any heat treatment to capture particulate and biological matter that may be aerosolized during the heating process.
As usual, we have Wikipedia to thank for this information.
If you ever pass a house with an exterminator company truck outside and you see propane cylinders near the doors of the home you are seeing bedbug extermination in progress. Anyone can get bedbugs, but we have this idea that only low-life types do. So for a little fun try asking the exterminator what they are killing. The song and dance around the question can be quite amusing.
