There was a plan a long time ago when Mr. Lee was in charge to restore a 4000 class. It was pretty detailed from what I understand but I believe upper management shot it down. Maybe hotwater knows a little more about it. Anyways yes there would have been the 3985 and 844 for sure available for this as well as the E units and DD40. They always had a locomotive available at all times.
