Almost every administration has tried to kill Amtrak since it was born, so this is hardly news. After all, Amtrak has consistently failed to achieve its primary goal, which was to quietly disappear so the railroads could go about their business.

I am not a Democrat (nor a Republican), and I would not want to see Trump expire in office, which would result in the "Elf on the Shelf" becoming President. However, if he took a turn for the worse after leaving office, oh well...
