To ron....yes, YW had a second SW-8, but they cut that one up ten or more years ago, it was one of the first pieces to go after CORP stopped running over the hill and they started junking everything to pay the bills. The SD-9 departed well before that, Modoc Northern actually purchased it shortly before they imploded but never moved it out of Yreka, then Western Rail picked it up along with MN's two other SD-9s it and sent it off to Washington. Age of Steam did finance repairs to the #21 to help get the #19 off the road, it sat at the location shown on the map next to the Montague brown trout ponds for a while after that movement but then reportedly has been moved back to the Yreka shop. Only other equipment still on the property is their ancient ex-GN ore jenny ballast hopper and a SP Economy baggage car they acquired from CSRM many years ago.
To a couple other questions, yes they used to haul inbound propane to the dealer next to the interstate south of the shop, and a mine up in the Trinities did periodically ship out gondolas of gold concentrate loaded at the depot, but obviously none of that traffic has moved in 10-15 or more years now. There used to be some very sporadic shippers near the end of the line, but they haven't been active in more like 25-30 years. And they would have to rebuild trackage to reestablish service to any of them, given that the only rails left in Yreka run down into the shop.
