I think y'all have excellent taste in locomotives and I agree with every selection.
It seems that the #4294 is the consensus engine and it deserves an examination. My impression from visits to the CSRM is the reigning opinion there is "ain't no way in hell - too many parts large and small are missing" I do not dispute that but other restorations must have had to deal with missing parts too.
Too bad we cannot get a Governor who likes trains and would launch a major upgrade of the CSRM. I do not see a rebuild of the #4294 likely at the present level of funding and state interest in the museum. We can always hope but nuts and bolts political leaders are not in vogue now.
