Wow, where have you heard this?

Maybe, an "inferior" "higher speed", two hour, at least as auto competitive, travel time, to and from the Bay Area, including the Peninsula and City, directly from Fresno, connecting to more Valley cities (which generate many more trips to the Bay Area), and connecting to the East Bay Centers, with hourly all day service, and extra peak commuter/local service, wouldn't be the cost is no object "true" "high speed"for CAHSRA "purists"...?

But just maybe, for the millions of beleaguered CA taxpayers paying for these trains, and for the tens of thousands of travelers who were stuck in the traffic on the I-580 this morning, it might just seem too "sensible".

Maybe what the folks who were lied to, to vote for this unmitigated fiasco, really wanted was just a more affordable (to both build and operate), frequent, and faster rail alternative that actually meets some of their real transportation "needs"...?

And, maybe now, with these long overdue reforms and "reality check", putting these funds to a better use, those voters, who were lied to, will actually get something they can actually afford, and would actually use...
