Do both state agencies, the California Public Utilities Commission & the California Transportation Commission, still exist today ??? If so, how much unnecessary overlap is there within the agencies ??? Since moving away from the Late, Great, Golden State in 1995, I have not kept up on this issue.
I have read of CPUC's involvement with various " Train - Off " petitions in the late 1960's,(mostly Espee ), & old RR Employee timetables are full of special instructions involving grade crossing protection " ... Per CPUC. " Is the CTC a more recent boondoggle ???
