Caveat emptor. The book is known for its errors of fact and suppositions.
The ICC's Accident Investigation Report on the derailment is available online in the .pdf format through the DOT Library Special Collections. It's in the railroad section and is the
second listing for "Southern Pacific Railroad" for 1939.
