Dave,
My guess is that she is referring to her radio site as such. Some UP Dispatchers call them "repeaters", "channels", and "towers". On the BNSF they call them "radios", or "calls". I can tell you that UP 254 has a bases that are still active at Pampa Peak, Oak Creek Pass, Mojave, Cantil, and Hiland. I would have to check the database to see what others are still in service.
