I have an idea. Add a tax on Uber, Lyft and Taxi travel equal to a public transit ride. The proceeds would go to fund public transit. In Portland it would be a couple of dollars per ride. I'm sure that Uber and Lyft will complain about the money funding public transit, but there has been a precedence. The railroads were taxed and the funds used to make the interstate highway system and airports.
