Question for Hot Water

Jack, what do you know about the SD9 that ran on the Leadville to Climax branch in Colorado that had a different blower arrangement to supply the engine with more air at high altitude? Was it different gears in the blower drive that just spun a standard roots blower at a higher RPM? Or was there more to it than that? Do you (or anyone else) know of any documentation on this modification? It seemed to work - the 828 appeared to run pretty clean up there. Other engines assigned there didn't seem to do as well. Thanks for any info anyone can provide.

Phil
